PAST REPRESENTATION PROJECT, THE COFFEE FARMER HAS PARTICIPATED IN THE PROGRAM “CONSULTATION DRAFT THE RULES OF CONDUCT ABOUT COFFEE and RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT FOR the COFFEE SECTOR IN VIETNAM”. This is both an honor and also a big responsibility for a project fledgling as The Coffee Farmer – farmers union coffee processing of high quality.
INTRODUCTION THE CODE OF CONDUCT OF COFFEE:
The Rules of conduct on responsible business environment for the coffee sector in Vietnam (Set of Rules) is a standard set of independent and voluntary aims to bring out the standards suitable for medium-sized enterprises, micro and small cooperatives, farmers planting, production and processing in the coffee sector in Vietnam. This set of Rules is recommended widely applied to members of the Association of coffee – Cacao Vietnam and businesses, farmers produce other coffee in Vietnam.
THE GOAL OF THE CODE OF CONDUCT OF COFFEE:
The goal of The Rules intended to promote the practice of responsible business with the environment and reducing the negative impact from the production and processing of the units in the coffee industry on the environment, from which ensure the sustainable development of the sector and each unit in the industry. With the principle of asymptotic international standards, The rule also aims to support businesses in the coffee industry prepared integration, including the meet the requirements and the related terms of two trade agreements freedom to which Vietnam is a member, the Agreement of free trade between Vietnam and the European union (EVFTA) and the comprehensive and progressive trans-pacific (CPTPP). In addition, participation in voluntary Set of Rules that help businesses, small and super small, cooperative, farmers enhance product value and brand, ensuring sustainable use of resources for activities, cultivation, production and processing, at the same time there is the preparation steps first, before doing the international certification.
The Rules are built and developed by the Institute for Research and career development in rural Vietnam in collaboration with the Association of coffee – Cacao Vietnam experts with the technical support of the development Program of the united Nations in Vietnam (UNDP). The rules located in the framework of The project “promoting responsible business environment for both the coffee sector and vegetables in Vietnam” by The Swedish government and UNDP funding.
BUILDING BASE SETS RULES OF CONDUCT ABOUT COFFEE
The Rules are built based on the system rules of conduct and standards related to the environment of international and Vietnamese as The Rules of conduct 4C, standard for sustainable agriculture Rainforest Alliance standards, fair trade for the organization, the small-scale production (Fairtrade Standard for Small Scale Producer Organizations), principles and practice of production of green coffee durability of WRONG Platform, Guide to coffee production sustainability of the Ministry of Agriculture and rural development etc. In addition, The rules also reference the relevant terms of the EVFTA 2020 and CPTPP 2018 as well as consulting business.
Expect that the rules will soon be adopted and contributed to promote Vietnam's coffee industry develop increasingly more sustainable. We will update the rules, the conduct of coffee after was competent authorities decide on through right on this website.
